The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is celebrating its 30th anniversary by staging its 1987 Australian run in reverse. The team set out from Brisbane in mid May and aims to be in Adelaide in early July. As they travelled through the Manning Valley 2BOB Radio’s Cam Jennings caught up with them on the side of the road.
A crew of runners from South Africa, Austria, Canada, the UK and Australia is taking it in turns to run legs of this journey over the next few months. I think one of the most amazing things about this concept is that they don’t set out to raise money for anyone rather they just wanted to use the journey as a way of trying to educate school kids and hopefully make us all think a bit more about how we can be peaceful in this world.
